Important COVID update – QR code process

Dec 4, 2020 | News

Dear customers, families and friends,

QR code check-in

To remain COVID-safe, Cara is required to enforce the SA Government’s QR code check-in at all Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Short Term Accommodation (STA) sites. For Cara to be legally compliant, this check-in process will be in place by 12:01am on Friday, December 4, 2020.

This means that all visitors including staff, family, friends, medical professionals and contractors will need to check in with a smart device scanning the QR code available upon entry. Each location will be provided with a unique QR code that will be placed at the entrance(s) to the home. Customers do not need to check in at their own homes.

Please ensure you download the mySA GOV app to your smartphone so that the app can securely collect your information as you enter one of these locations, or other business or venue. Your details will be retained for 28 days and will only be released to SA Health if required for official contact tracing purposes.

Paper sign-in will be made available for visitors who do not have a compatible smartphone. You can visit the COVID-19 website (www.covid-19.sa.gov.au) if you want to know more about the QR code process.

Masks

For the safety of our customers and staff, SA Health has instructed that it is now compulsory for all visitors to wear surgical masks at SIL and STA locations. If you don’t have a surgical mask, Cara staff will issue you one upon entry. Fabric masks will no longer be acceptable for visitors.

A reminder that if you are experiencing any symptoms (fever and/or chills, cough, sore throat, runny nose, shortness of breath, loss of taste or smell), please do not visit any Cara sites. You should get tested immediately and isolate until you receive a negative result. We thank all of our customers, their families and friends for being careful and cooperative throughout this time to keep everyone safe. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact our Cara Connect team on (08) 8347 4588 or at contact@cara.org.au.

Yours sincerely,

Matt Law
Cara Chief Financial Officer
