John joined Cara in October 2023 as Chief Executive Officer and holds a number of non-executive directorships.
Prior to joining Cara, John spent three and a half years as Chief Executive Officer at another respected disability support provider.
John is a Chartered Accountant and spent his early career working for large accounting firms in Australia, Canada and Holland. John then spent many years in senior finance and technology roles with iconic South Australian companies before transitioning to the not for profit and services sector.

Michael joined Cara as the inaugural Deputy CEO in 2025, bringing with him more than a decade of executive leadership experience across the disability, automotive, and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to joining Cara, Michael served as CEO of Lutheran Disability Services Inc., and held senior roles at RAA, where he led marketing, sales, and business development.

Sam Ibrahim joined Cara in July 2024, bringing more than 25 years of international leadership experience across Dubai and the Middle East. A visionary technology leader, Sam combines a bold strategic outlook with a deep commitment to people-first innovation.
At Cara, Sam is leading the organisation’s digital transformation by designing intelligent, user-centric systems that elevate care, empower teams, and enhance everyday experiences. With a focus on emerging technologies and scalable solutions, he is positioning Cara as a leader in digital excellence across the sector.
Sam believes that technology should serve people – and under his leadership, innovation is always aligned with purpose. He also oversees Cara’s property portfolio, fleet operations, and procurement functions.

Rick has been a valued member of Cara’s Possible People for over four years, stepping up in to the role of General Manager, Client Services, and as of 2026 Chief Client Officer. With a strong commitment to person-centred support, Rick’s leadership empowers our teams to deliver services that reflect Cara’s vision, helping people live with joy, purpose, and belonging every day.
Rick brings a wealth of experience to this role. He holds a degree qualification in the helping professions and has more than 20 years of management and senior leadership experience in the not-for-profit and services sector, along with six years of board experience. His extensive background and strategic insight ensure Cara’s client services remain responsive, high-quality, and aligned with our values.

Meredith brings over a decade of experience in marketing, communications, brand strategy, and business development to her role as General Manager of Marketing & Business Development at Cara. Her career spans senior roles where she led transformative initiatives, including rebrands, key partnerships, the introduction of new revenue streams, and the development of CSR programs.
Meredith’s leadership spans across the Marketing and Business Development Unit, including Business Development, Marketing, the Client Intake Team, Client Experience Team, Fundraising and Admin. Meredith is passionate about building meaningful partnerships and driving innovation in the disability sector.
A Fellow and Certified Practising Marketer of the Australian Marketing Institute, Meredith is also a Mentor and Judge for the National AMI Awards for Excellence. A past State Committee member of the Fundraising Institute Australia SA and a former Vice Chair of the Motor Neurone Disease Association SA, Meredith has a wealth of knowledge and skills to successfully lead this team.

Nick leads Cara’s Client Services Team with a clear focus on safe, person-centred supports and strong, accountable service delivery. He joined Cara in 2024, and was appointed General Manager, Client Services in February 2026. Prior to Cara, Nick held senior roles with Australian Red Cross across aged care and community services, disaster resilience and response, and organisational transformation, including serving as interim Director for South Australia. His experience across complex, high-stakes environments shapes a leadership approach grounded in clarity, trust and purpose. Nick is known for values-driven leadership and a strong commitment to improving outcomes for the people services are designed to support. He brings deep experience in strategy, leading change, and building sustainable, high-quality services. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), an alumnus of the Institute for Strategic Leadership, and has held several non-executive director roles.
