Welcoming new leadership in Employee Experience and Workforce Development
Cara’s strength is in our people, who work alongside children and adults with disability across South Australia. To foster the ongoing growth of our driven, professional workforce, we announce the appointment of Lorraine Johnston as the new Executive Manager, Employee Experience and Workforce Development.
The position will continue to expand Cara’s capability to offer high-quality supports for children and adults with disability across South Australia. Cara works alongside our customers in Supported Independent Living (SIL), Short Term Accommodation (Respite), Holiday Options and Specialist Services across South Australia.
Lorraine brings with her skills from the commercial, community services, health and regulatory sectors, with recent experience with the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR), Pulteney Grammar School and Minda Incorporated.
“Now, more than ever, the disability sector needs an influx of skilled, passionate and professional staff so that people with disability can live fulfilling lives with choice and control,” Lorraine says.
“I am looking forward to growing Cara’s staff so that our customers can rely on excellent support workers, and I am also excited for more people to discover how rewarding a career in the disability sector can be.
“Cara’s reputation as a provider of choice and an employer of choice stands us in good stead to increase our work with children and adults with disability around South Australia.”
Lorraine holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Management from the University of South Australia and she has undertaken a range of contemporary studies in business and assessment.
Lorraine’s experience, skills and knowledge of the different sectors will be an asset to Cara as we right now as we recruit and retain more staff to join our values-driven and thriving ‘profit for purpose’ organisation.
