Cara is now inviting new customers to access the services and expertise of its in-house Specialist Services Team (SST).
The SST works creatively and collaboratively alongside children and adults with disabilities, as well as their support networks, to build independence, confidence and life skills.
“It’s a very exciting time for Specialist Services at Cara,” Cara General Manager, Tracey Pinter said.
“We have grown our team over the last 12 months and now have the capacity to provide intervention to customers who aren’t already receiving services from Cara.
“We hope to support as many people with disabilities in the community as we can in this space, to help them reach goals they may not feel they could otherwise achieve.”
Cara is a registered provider of specialist behaviour support, with the SST able to provide assessments, plans, coaching and strategies to foster behavioural change. The service is personalised and tailored towards the individual needs of each participant, focused on improving quality of life and minimising restrictive practices.
The team is comprised of highly-skilled and experienced Allied Health professionals, with qualifications in disability, psychology and other health-related fields. The team has been deemed suitable to provide specialist behaviour supports under the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
